Hands-On Creation is a Christ-centered initiative dedicated to enriching the homeschool experience by providing hands-on science education. We empower students to explore God’s creation through engaging lab activities, fostering critical thinking and a lasting love of learning. Our mission is to make quality science education accessible and impactful for every homeschooling family.

FOUNDER

Meet Our Founder

Hands-On Creation was founded by Jessenia Laguna-Torres, MS, BS, a former neuropathologist and active Christian homeschool mother who recognized a significant gap in science education within the homeschool community.

 

Jessenia holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Science in Pathology and Laboratory Sciences with a concentration in Neuropathology from Boston University. Her research has been published in leading journals such as Science Translational Medicine, PLOS One, and The Journal of Neuroscience.

 

As both a scientist and a Christian homeschooler, Jessenia is passionate about sharing the wonders of God’s creation through science with the next generation. Living in Massachusetts, she experienced firsthand how many homeschooling families—her own included—struggle to access quality, hands-on science education. Limited budgets and single-income households often make it difficult to provide the kind of lab experiences that public school students receive through their districts.
